The scroll is the problem, not the choice

Nobody spends forty minutes browsing because there is nothing to watch. They spend forty minutes browsing because there are nine thousand things to watch and no way to compare them.

A wheel fixes this by removing the comparison. You are not picking the best film any more — you are picking a genre, which cuts nine thousand options down to about six, and then the choice is easy.

That is why this list is genres and moods rather than titles. "Action movie" narrows things enough to make the final pick trivial, without pretending the wheel knows what is on your streaming services tonight.

Two entries are doing specific work. "Something from the watchlist" sends you to the list you already made and never open. "The film we keep skipping past" is for the one that comes up every night and gets scrolled past every night.

Using actual titles instead

If you would rather spin real films, build the list once:

• Copy in ten to fifteen titles from your watchlist.
• Turn on Remove the winner after each spin so a film leaves the wheel once you have watched it.
• Save the wheel. It becomes a watchlist that actually gets worked through.

For a shared household, both people add five titles each. Nobody adds anything the other would refuse to sit through, and the spin is binding. It is a much shorter conversation than the one you are currently having.
