Privacy Policy
Short version: what you type into a wheel stays in your browser.
Last updated 2026-09-05
What we collect
Wheel contents: nothing. Names, entries, options and results are held in the page while you use it. They are never sent to us and we never see them.
Saved wheels: stored on your device. Pressing Save writes the wheel into your browser's local storage, on that browser, on that device. We cannot read it. Clearing your browsing data deletes it.
Share links: encoded into the link itself. Share this wheel builds a URL containing the entries. Nothing is uploaded — the data travels inside the link. This matters if the entries are student names or entrant handles: treat the link like the list it contains, and only send it to people who should have it.
Accounts: there are none. No sign-up, no email address, no password.
Server logs
Like any website, requests to Wheel Cue reach a web server, and that server keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested, referrer and user agent. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or errors. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with anything you type into a wheel.
Advertising
Wheel Cue is free and will be supported by advertising. Ad slots appear above the wheel, in a desktop sidebar, inside the written content, in the result window and in a dismissible bar at the bottom of the screen. None of them ever cover the wheel itself.
When advertising is active, an advertising provider may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and may use them to show more relevant ads, subject to that provider's own policies and to your consent where the law requires it. Where a consent prompt applies, ads are not loaded until you have made a choice.
We do not pass anything you type into a wheel to an advertising provider. There is no mechanism for it to happen — the entries never leave your browser.
The ads.txt file at the root of this site lists which sellers are authorised to sell our inventory.
Analytics
Any analytics used are limited to aggregate page-level measurement — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Wheel contents, results and saved wheels are never included, because they are never transmitted.
Children and classrooms
Wheel Cue is used in schools, so this is worth being explicit about.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Class rosters typed into the student picker are not transmitted or stored by us at any point.
The one thing to be careful about is share links. A link created from a wheel containing student names carries those names inside it. Do not post such a link publicly.
If your school or district requires a vendor assessment, the short answer is that there is no vendor-held student data: the tool stores nothing about your students on any server we control.
Your choices
- Delete saved wheels by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, or by removing them individually from the Saved wheels panel.
- Avoid share links if the entries are sensitive.
- Use the site without saving anything — every tool works without pressing Save.
- Contact us at [email protected] with any question about this policy.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
