Who we are

In these terms, "Wheel Cue", "we" and "us" mean Massimiliano Governi, a private individual based in Italy, who runs wheelcue.com. Questions about these terms, and privacy requests, go to hello@wheelcue.com.

Using the site

Wheel Cue is provided free of charge for personal, educational and commercial use. You may use the wheels to run classroom activities, giveaways, raffles, games and decisions without asking us for permission and without attribution. Whether a particular raffle, lottery, sweepstake or prize promotion is lawful is your responsibility, not ours.

You may not use the site to break the law, to run a draw that misrepresents how a winner was chosen, or to attempt to disrupt the service for others.

Raffles, lotteries and prize draws

Wheel Cue does not organize, promote, sell tickets or entries for, or take part in any raffle, lottery, sweepstake, game of chance or gambling. It accepts no money, awards no prizes and keeps no record of draws.

You must not use it to run a draw that is unlawful where you or your entrants are, and you are responsible for any license, permit, registration, free method of entry, official or notary that your draw requires.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is". Apart from the rights described under Your statutory rights, we make no guarantee that it will be available, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.

Specifically: do not use Wheel Cue for decisions with meaningful consequences. It is not appropriate for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions, and it is not certified for regulated gambling, lotteries or prize draws. Where a draw is subject to legal requirements, follow those requirements and use a process your regulator accepts.

The randomness claims made on how randomness works describe how the code behaves. They are not a warranty, and that page is explicit about what cannot be proven by software running in your own browser.

Liability

Wheel Cue is a free tool. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from a result a wheel produces. You decide whether a random result is appropriate and how to use it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer, you have rights under the consumer laws of your country, such as the consumer guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, Quebec's Consumer Protection Act and EU consumer law. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

Your content

Anything you type into a wheel remains yours. It is not uploaded, we do not store or use it, and we make no claim to it. The only exception is technical: when someone opens an older shared-wheel link, which carries the list after "?w=", the request for the page, and the requests for its own files made while it loads, reach our web host with the list in the address, like any page address, as the privacy policy explains.

Shared and embedded wheels

A shared-wheel link and a wheel's embed code are both created by you. Each carries your entries, and any title or question you add, inside the link or the code itself. We do not host, see or review that content, and we cannot change or withdraw a link or code once it is out of your hands.

You are responsible for what a shared or embedded wheel contains, for who you send it to, and for the pages where you put its embed code. In particular, do not use a shared or embedded wheel to:

• publish anyone's personal information without their permission;
• harass, bully, threaten or demean anyone;
• pretend to be Wheel Cue or anyone else, or mislead people, for example with fake contact details, prizes or offers;
• send or show content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.

If you receive a wheel, or see an embedded one, that contains something offensive or harmful, close it. Its content was written by whoever made it, not by Wheel Cue.

Intellectual property

The text, design, graphics and code of this site belong to Wheel Cue, except where a page says otherwise. You may link to any page, share wheels and quote short passages with a link back. Do not copy the site or present it as your own.

Embedding. You may embed wheels on any website, including commercial and school sites, free of charge, using the code from the embed builder. Keeping the credit line under the wheel is appreciated, not required.

Research data. The raw results files published with each research study are licensed under CC BY 4.0: you may reuse and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you credit Wheel Cue. That license covers those data files only, not the article text, the scripts, or the rest of the site's text, design or code. You may download and run the published scripts to reproduce a study.

Icons. Some interface icons are adapted from Lucide (ISC License, Copyright (c) Lucide Contributors) and Feather (MIT License, Copyright (c) 2013-2017 Cole Bemis).

Complaints. If you believe something on Wheel Cue, or a shared or embedded wheel using our name, infringes your copyright or trademark, write to hello@wheelcue.com with a link to it and the right you hold. We reply as quickly as we can. Because shared wheels live inside their links, we cannot delete a link someone has already sent.

Trademarks

Wheel Cue is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any company whose products are named on this site. Names are used only to say where a wheel can be shared or embedded, or to describe a product accurately.

Google, Google Classroom, Google Sites, Blogger and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC. Microsoft, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Edge are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. Canvas is a trademark of Instructure, Inc. WordPress is a trademark of the WordPress Foundation. Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB. Telegram, TikTok, X, Netflix, Slack, Pinterest and all other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you use Wheel Cue as a consumer, this choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or any right you have under them to bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the site adds a feature or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and material changes are also noted in the changelog. A change applies from the date shown and never to anything that happened before it. If you do not agree with an updated version, you can stop using the site.
