Running a draw people will believe

The hard part of a giveaway is not picking a name. It is convincing several hundred people who did not win that the pick was clean.

That is what to optimise for:

1. Say the rules before you draw. How many winners, what happens to duplicate entries, what happens if a winner does not respond.
2. Show the list. Paste the entrants where the audience can see the count. The wheel shows how many slices there are, and the strip under it states the odds each entrant had.
3. Draw in one take. Record the spin. Do not stop and restart — a cut in the recording is exactly what a suspicious audience will notice.
4. Publish the record. Copy in the Winners panel exports every draw with its position, its probability, a spin ID and a timestamp, as a table you can paste into a post or a spreadsheet.
5. Keep the losing entries visible. Do not delete the entrant list afterwards. The ability to check is what makes people stop wanting to.

Multiple prizes, no duplicate winners

Remove each winner before the next draw is on by default on this page, which is almost always what a giveaway needs — one person should not take the first and third prize.

Draw first prize, the name comes off the wheel, draw second prize from what remains. The Winners panel numbers them in order, so the log tells you which prize each name won.

If your giveaway genuinely allows one person to win twice — some prize-per-entry formats do — turn the option off, and say so in your rules before you draw.

Preparing the entrant list

The wheel takes one entrant per line, and how you build that list matters more than the spin does.

• Deduplicate first, unless multiple entries are meant to be multiple chances. A spreadsheet's *Remove duplicates* takes ten seconds and prevents the most common complaint.
• If extra entries earn extra chances, do not paste the same handle five times — turn on Weighted choices and write @name *5. The wheel then reports that entrant's real probability when they win, which is a much better answer to "why did they win" than a list with repeats in it.
• Strip out ineligible entries before you draw, not after. Disqualifying a winner after the spin is the single fastest way to lose an audience's trust.
• Watch the count. The number under the entrant box should match your entry count. If it does not, you have blank lines or a paste that went wrong.

What we can and cannot promise

Being precise about this is worth more than a badge that says "provably fair".

What is true: the winner is drawn with crypto.getRandomValues() before the wheel animates; every entrant's probability is exactly their share of the wheel; the modulo bias is removed by rejection sampling; the animation cannot change the result; and every draw exposes its raw number and arithmetic under How this result was picked.

What is not true: this is not a third-party audited draw. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Someone determined to fake a result could edit the list between spins or simply not show you the losing spins — no client-side tool can prevent that, including this one.

So for a casual giveaway, this is more transparent than almost anything else you will find. For a draw with legal or regulatory weight — a sweepstake with a prize value that triggers local rules — use a process your jurisdiction recognises.
