This browser onlyBuild a date range
Set a From and a To date and press Build the wheel. Every day in the range becomes a slice, written out in full — weekday, month, day and year — so the result is unambiguous when you read it aloud.
Weekdays only drops Saturdays and Sundays. That is the setting you want for anything work- or school-related, and it is why a plain calendar picker is not quite enough for this job.
Ranges are capped at 200 days. For a longer span, pick the month first and then the day within it.
Dates are formatted in US style. If you need a different format, build the range, then edit the text — the entries are just text once they are on the wheel.
What a random date is good for
- Scheduling something you keep putting off. A catch-up call, a deep clean, a dentist appointment. The date being arbitrary is the point — it removes the negotiation.
- Spreading work across a period. Twenty tasks and a month to do them in: spin a date for each one instead of clumping them all on the last Friday.
- Sampling. Pick three days at random to audit, spot-check or count something, rather than choosing days you already have a hunch about.
- Classroom rotations. Random presentation dates, random assignment due dates within a window.
- Games and prompts. A random date as a writing prompt, a history lookup or a "what happened on this day" activity.
Turn on Remove the winner after each spin when every draw needs a different day — that is the usual case for scheduling.
Frequently asked questions
How long a range can I use?
Up to 200 days at once. For anything longer, spin for a month first, then build a range inside it.
Can I exclude weekends?
Yes. Tick Weekdays only and Saturdays and Sundays are left off the wheel.
Can I exclude specific holidays?
Not automatically. Build the range, then delete the lines you do not want from the dates list before spinning.
What date format does it use?
US format — weekday, month, day, year, as in *Mon, Sep 7, 2026*. Once the range is built you can edit the text into any format you like.
Can I get several different dates?
Yes. Turn on Remove the winner after each spin and spin once per date; each one leaves the wheel after it is drawn.
