Each entry is a hex code, and every slice is painted with the actual colour rather than a label. Spin, and the result window shows the colour full size with its hex value underneath — Copy result puts the code on your clipboard.
Type your own colours the same way, one per line. Six-digit and three-digit hex both work (#ff8787 or #f88). Anything that is not a valid hex code still spins, it just gets a palette colour instead of its own.
Paste a brand palette in and you have a wheel that only ever picks your own colours.
The five palettes
- Full spectrum — twelve evenly spaced hues, the default. Good when you want genuine variety.
- Basic colors — the eight everyone can name. For classroom colour games and anything with young children, where "periwinkle" is not a useful answer.
- Pastels — soft, light tones that all work as backgrounds with dark text on them.
- Warm — reds through yellows.
- Cool — blues, teals and greens.
Warm and cool are useful when you want a random colour that still has to sit inside a scheme. A random pick from a constrained palette is far more usable than a random pick from all sixteen million.
What people use it for
- Breaking a design deadlock. Any of five accent colours would work, so stop deliberating and spin.
- Assigning team colours. Turn on remove-after-spin so no two groups get the same one.
- Classroom activities. Colour of the day, art prompts, naming and matching games.
- Random paint or craft picks. Load the colours you actually own and let the wheel choose.
- Testing. A quick random background or accent when you are checking contrast and legibility.

Does the result give me a hex code?
Yes. The result window shows the colour full size with its hex value, and Copy result puts the code on your clipboard.
Can I add my own colors?
Yes. Type hex codes into the list, one per line. Both #ff8787 and the shorthand #f88 are understood.
Does it support RGB or HSL?
The wheel paints hex codes. Other formats still spin as text entries but will be drawn with a palette colour rather than their own.
Can I stop a color repeating?
Yes — turn on Remove the winner after each spin. Useful when you are assigning a different colour to each team or table.
Is it a true random color?
It is a uniform random pick from the colours on the wheel, not from all possible colours. Every slice has the same chance, and the result window shows the exact probability.
